July 31, 2012. Flight plans in hand - ready to roll... or fly or swim.

Family, Guess who has two thumbs and has their flight plans? This Elder! I leave next week form Salt Lake to LAX to Hong Kong to Manilla and from Manilla to "the land of the dragon" my one and only love (besides you Mom) my NAGA! I can't wait but at the same time I feel like I could wait a while... like until I KNOW THIS LANGUAGE! Oh well. I have faith that the Lord will bless me even more than he has with this Language and I can't wait to teach actual people and bring them to the TRUTH. So I don't know why I leave on the sixth Mom but I do. And I imagine I will be in the Airport from around 5 to 8 in the evening (Utah Time) keep your phones handy and it will be a FUN Family Home Evening! hahaha I hope I have a good trainer! Keep that in your prayers please. I don't know how to say much in Tagalog but that doesn't matter so much people will recognize the truth by The Spirit- and The Spirit is a language EVERYONE can understand. American Australian Philippino (Someone from St. Johns) ANYONE! So i'm not worried. Think about this one for a second- why does the Bible have an ending? I know why. . . haha I love being a missionary! It will be hard to say goodbye to everyone in my district though- we've gotten supper close. There are 12 of us and we are in a room the size of a closet for 16 hours a day! And WE LOVE IT. Ready for some Tagalog Humor? Ready or not here it comes- Why couldn't the ocean make it to Heaven? Because it was Tubig-a-sin. Dumb haha I hope eveyone is well- tell Chelsea you can hardly tell she's pregnant! You look great sis! And Kates don't lie to me you've not had 4 kids- look at yourself. Rylee I miss our Rook- don't get to good while I'm gone- and you look great too. Markee- well Markee you have really cute..... KIDS! hahaha joke lang. I love you mark! Race- Just Kidding- but seriouly. I know that this church is true for ONLY one reason- God told me through the power of the Holy Ghost and I can't deny that. I can't wait to tell everyone else! Guess who gets travel plans this week? I do! Haha it's crazy- the MTC has flown by and now I'm in the "crap I still don't know Tagalog stage" But it's okay! I hope I get a good trainer! Crazy crazy- I'll be in NAGA so soon and I'll finally be able to tell people what I know to be true- it's going to be awesome! But the Lord calls the "weak things of the world" - I hardly know tagalog and it doesn't change what is true and what isn't true- and This IS TRUE! and people have and will feel it, even if I speak it terribly.

So I must say I'm saddened by how the garden sounds! But Bro-in-Laws you have two more plantings before I get home and the second crop better be good- I want to corn, green beans and peas A PLENTY! Haha just kidding maybe I should have trusted you to plant while I went GOLFING my bad!

So NO!- I haven't seen pictures of Brighton, but I would like to! Do the kids just miss me everyday? I'm sure they do hahaha! Just Kidding but it will be weird to see them so grown up and NEW ones in a couple years! Give em hugs and kisses for me.

So can you believe they trust us (19 year old boys) to go and teach this Gosple to the world? Every time I think about it I just love it! We work, and I mean work, for 16 hours a day with NO BREAKS and We PAY TO DO IT!

I can't wait to teach people about The Restoration, The Plan of Salvation, and The Gospel of Jesus Christ! SA TAGALOG mind you! It's going to be a crazy fun time! I can't wait!

Hey, it's me- Elder Davis "How are you Elder Davis?" "Oh I'm great thanks for asking." I didn't know know how to start the letter so I did that^ weird thing. Haha HEY EVERYBODY! I hope all is going well. How are the Kids? Is Race gettin Hitched yet? My bet is Hindi Pero Hindi Ko Alam! So I have no idea what to say this week? I'm doing great- happy as ever. Did you recieve my SD card? Did you like the pictures/video? I hope you did. Thanks for all of your Dear Elders I love getting those. Hey mom If you could send me Eric Porter and Rulon's addresses I would appreciate it. Just dear elder it right over. Also I hope my letters are good- I just write until my thirty minutes is up and then I send it (with no proof read) I'm sure they are riddled with mistaces (see what I did there?) PLUS my English Spelling is even worse than before because Tagalog spells everything so great. So this week My companion and I were made zone leaders. I wasn't to thrilled at first because Zone Leaders never get to study, BUT it will be a good experience! We have 29 new missionaries comming into our zone next week- We'll be taking care of them and still "ya know, LEARNING TAGALOG!" haha It'll be fun though. I had great zone leaders before me and hopefully I can follow their lead. From Zone Leader Generations Passed Down we inherited a few fun things including a ROBE (which I rock) a blow up monkey and other things (pictures soon to come). Also I hear word that Race's blog is hilarious even in the MTC! I can't wait to read his blog for two years worth of time when I get home ahahahha. Well I love you all and sorry this is short but- I don't have much to say but that I'm happy and working hard. I love being a missionary. And I love you all and your support. Family Family Family First off, "STEVE NASH IS A LAKER?" I am ashamed to admit I want him to win a championship- therefore I want the lakers to win a championship. I am still debating if I would rather have Nash win a championship or Kobe lose one? Tough choice- either way the Phoenix Suns are not smart. hahahhaha what are your thought Mom? Just Kidding Around. So I got your packages and I love them, Thanks for everything. I love the "Sara's" T-shirt but maybe you could have just sent me the burrito??? hahaha jokelang. My english spelling is terrible- Tagalog spells EVERYTHING just like is sounds! My kinda language. MOM I NEED to know what ERED means- it's killing me. Can I get a hint? Also I don't know why we can't email pictures but we can't so I won't. But maybe you should send that memory card into a store and see if you can fix it? I don't know. Either way I bought two more and I'll send one home today for your enjoyment. You'll love it.  So Elder Wengert? Is here. I don't know the last name well enough- but Zack from SJ the massive player- I bet you remember him. It's fun to see and talk to him on occasion. Tell Grandma and Grandpa Davis that I am so appreciative of their example of serving so many missions. I will always love them for it. Tell Gramps Sherwood I'm workin hard and loving it. I can't explain how glad I am to have the support system I have with you all, It makes me respect those missionaries who don't have that support system. I don't think their are two better parents in the world better than my mom and my dad. Glad The fourth was good. Tell Uncle Bob I love him and Give Aunt Tonna a hug from me- I pray for them. It's so great that Families can be together forever. Nothing in this life can sadden us so much that our happiness in the world to come won't cover ten fold. I was just at the Temple, my district had to clean the temple but My companion and I got to be "Provo Temple Security-don't worry I had a Badge." And most of the time I was reading about "The Sealing Power" what a cool and REAL thing. Thank you mom and dad for being married in the temple! I am startiong to understand some of the blessings I am getting because of that. I can't tell you how much I love being a missionary- in four weeks I'll be in Naga and Teaching ACTUAL PEOPLE ABOUT THE RESTORED GOSPLE OF JESUS CHRIST! I have thrown last second football touchdowns and played in a state championship and there is NOTHING like the feeling of being a missionary. I have worn some awesome jerseys (Black and Gold don't you know) BUT nothing is quite as good as shirt and tie. My nametag has two BOLD BIG names- Mine and The Savior's- Jesus Christ. How dare anyone say we are not Christian. I speak boldly because I feel strongly. This is his gospel and I am not leaving everyone I know and Everything I have to tell people a lie. This IS the Truth. Read the Book of Mormon. Don't take my word for it. I hope fyou're doing great family. Rest assured that I am doing amazing! I'm grateful for your prayers and I love you. Kumusta po Kayo mga pamilya ko!

So, I can't send pictures in the MTC, lame right? But I'll send home an SD card soon with good pictures on it. Are you going to send me pictures of me and the mga anak (kids)? I want them before I leave to Naga. I will be in the Philippines in about a month- Speaking Tagalog! Crazy? yes! The language is comming good and I love being a missionary- I LOVE IT! I have a great district and a great companion! So this week Ted Gibbons spoke for our fireside. The whole tome he acted as Willard Richards (a witness of the martyrdom) and he told "his" story of Joseph Smith's life and experiences he had with the prophet! It was powerful! At the end of his talk we sang "Praise to the Man" a few blessed Elders started to stand and in no time we had 2000 plus missionaries, standing and shouting "Millions shall know brother Joseph again" I couldn't sing for a lot of that song, I was crying to much. I have never had a more powerful manifestation that Joseph was a prophet than at that time. Then the next morning I taught a lesson about the first vision IN TAGALOG! How incredible is it? This work is Jesus Christ's work, I'm just hear to tell the world what he wants them to hear. Sorry I always go off on stories and Testimony but I"M A MISSIONARY!

So I forgot to tell you this story, when you dropped me off at the Airport I nearly turned around and shouted, Harrah, Harrah for Isreal" but then I thought If I yell that in an airport there will be like five security workers come take me out. So I didn't say it. Funny? I think so.

Elder TJ Peters just left for Florida. I went and said goodbye and gave him a tie, He'll be such a good missionary. Let's see what else? I need Coach Semore's Address- dear elder it to me. Oh and Katie? How is she doing? Have they named their Child yet???? IF NOT tell them I'm okay with "Chantzy" or.. . . no just Chantzy will do.

I ran into ELDER HANKS, he served in our ward for like 7 months, he teaches here and we talked for a couple minutes. Small world.

4th of July- I'm so sorry you guys can't be here with me. AND i'm not being sarcastic. The 4th of July may be my favorite holliday of all time and we have so much fun as a family but IT HAS NOTHING ON BEING A MISSIONARY. MAKINA PO AKO! hahahhaha Really though don't worry about me during the 4th . . .  That means you Mom.

So is it odd that most likely in 5 months i'll be fluent in Taglog? It is to me. We had our sacrament this week with President Brown (MTC President) and I gave the opening prayer and my testimony in Tagalog- it's weird doing it in English to tell you the truth. I also learned this week that Toilot Paper is rare in Naga- bring it on I guess. Haha I'll just eat some fertilized  duck egg and then not worry about TP. Hahaha I can't wait to bring a message that is INVALUABLE to a people that have NOTHING! I love you all. I pray for you! I feel your prayers on my behalf- literally! Keep the letters/dear elders rolling.
