June 26th 2012

Dear Family and Friends, First of all thanks for all the "Dear Elders" it is great to here from all of you! So, the MTC is great- I love it. Also tonight we should have AT LEAST ONE Apostle or Maybe the Prophet here to talk to us. Can life get better, NO! I don't know why I have been so blessed to have the knowledge that once again God has called a prophet to the Earth to lead and guide his children. I'm so grateful I know that, and I can't wait to tell the World that He has called a MODERN DAY PROPHET once again. So, my companion and I are getting along great. My Tagalog is comming along wonderfully, but no where close to where I need to be. Isn't it amazing that we are here for 60 days, and 19 year old boys are speaking another language in another country? It is a miracle- it IS the Gift of Tongues. There is no other explaination of how this language is learned so quickly for me than that. I hope all is well- I'm sure it is seeing as how you are all CHILLING ON THE BEACH IN SAN DIEGO! Fufnny thing is, If I had the option of taking a few days off and going there, I WOULDN"T! The beach has nothing on missionary work. I wake up at 6 or EARLIER- EVERY MORNING and don't go to sleep until at earliest 10:30pm. I wouldn't trade what I am doing right now for the WORLD! No wonder Ammon said he didn't want to marry King Lamoni's Daughter, He was a missionary and no cute girl or promise to a thrown in a Lamonite Kingdom could make you want to stop being a missionary! We had our "old" bunch of missionaries ship out this week, only 6 more weeks and I'll be shipping out. The time is flyiong by. The days are long and the weeks the shortest in my life. I should be tired all the time, but I'm not. I'm set apart and blessed beyond measure. I hope you are all having fun in San Diego- but just so you know you should be jealous of what i'm doing and where I'm at! SUCKERS (hahahha). Let's see, what else can I tell you? We listened to a talk by Elder Bednar called "The Character of Christ" it was amazing! Also The FOURTH OF JULY IS COMMING SOON> again- you should envy me. And I am not being sarcastic. I love the morning Flag Raising, I love the Big Parade, I love the Family BBQ and the Fireworks at night- but nothing is like being a missionary. I feel your prayers for me. I pray for you all. I love you all, I hope you know that. Don't worry about me. I'm GREAT! I don't any more time, hopefully next week I can send Pictures. I'm still not sure if we can do that from the MTC- i'll find out and try next week. I love you all! \ I hope Uncle Bob is well? Kates- GOOD LUCK! Prayin for ya! Mom send me Semore's Address. Time to go. Tell Gramps he's a stud! Love you Mom and Dad, Bro's and Sis's. MGA ANAK Mahal you too! AND REMEMBER "It never rains enough to cool my fever!" -District 16A's Motto! Mahal, Elder Davis!

Lovin' the MTC!

Hey Family,
So where to begin? UM I LOVE THE MTC AND MISSIONARY WORK! That is all I really need to say. Thanks for all the Dear Elders they are great to get during the day! Also my district had a prayer for Uncle Bob and we went to the temple today! Praying hard for the Martin's! I hope sll is well. This week Sheri Dew came and talked at our fireside, it was amazing! She is a great speaker and it was extremely motivation. So TAGALOG is the language of the heavens (fyi) and if Race says spanish is- you can know he is lying. Really though, Tagalog is incredible and VERY hard. I feel your prayers everyday and they truely help me to study and work harder and harder.
So as far as my companion goes, his name is Elder Todd, he's from Anchorage Alaska! He is my Polar Bear, he's 6'4" and truely is a bear. He's very kind and we get along well. If we are companion in the Philippines it will be so funny having two WHITE AND BLONDE AND TALL missionaries in the field. I hope I get a good trainer, I'm praying for it. Also that is so cool about the Cisco's! I wish I could have been there, Tell them congrats for me. I love that Family. Being with our Families FOREVER is what it is all about. That is why i'm here. MIssionaray work is so incredible, I love it, I love it, I love it.
So my district is AWESOME! We get along very well! there are 8 elders and 4 sisters, The Sisters are literally Angels and they keep us on track. Such good sister missionaries. The Elders are so funny and nice. My district has some of the nicest and funniest Elders you will ever meet. Elder Atwood is from Australia and is sooooo Funny. Also there are some "cuss" words that aren't cuss words in Australia so sometime when he lets out a "Darn It" it's like I'm home- hahaha just kidding! The other missionaries and so so so amazing- Elders Redder, Jarman, Lo Forte, GUARD and ANDERSON! and Kasama ko of course. Kasama is Tagalog for Companion. Also Mom how long will you torture me on the ERED? I feel your pain know hahaha. Can I get a hint! Dad- Happy Father's Day!(a little late) I hope you know how much I love you and respect you. If I can be anything like you as a father I will be a great Dad. Thanks for all you have done. Periodically during the day I think about someone from home, Grandpa Sherwood, Mom, Lowee,  and I get motivated to work harder and harder, I write in my daily planner EVERY SINGLE DAY- "Earn It"- Grandpa Sherwood. It reminds me to work hard and be "a little closer to that middle line." I love you all so much.
I have the best Tagalog Teacher in the entire MTC, no lie.
Time is growing short, Mahal Kita Pamilya ko!
P.S. "Misiyonero po ako and Simbahan ni Jesucristo ng mga Banal sa mga Huling Araw." and I LOVE IT!

FIRST MTC LETTER. FINALLY!!!!!

So i sent that last message to see if you are online? I love love love love love time 210000000 love the MTC! I am exactly where the Lord wants me, and that is a great feeling. So my companion is elder Todd. He's great. He's kind and we are working hard, I have to push him so we can work harder but it is great. The second day we were here we taught a lesson to an investigator all in Tagalog. It was amazing, we got to use notes, but then the next day we taught him again BUT WITH NO NOTES! Absolutely incredible! I am speaking Tagalog and understanding Tagalog... somewhat. But it is not me... it truely is a portion of the Gift of Tongues. Words and Phrases come to my mind that are to compllicated for me to remember on my own. Miseyonero po ako ang Simbahan Ni Jesucristo ng mga Banal sa mga Huling Araw. It rolls off the tongue doesn't it? My companion is blond, big and six four... we will stand out in the Philippins like Uncle Bob in a White crowd (joklang). I Love it here. I am working hard. I truely can feel your prayers. The family motivates me to work hard. When I get discouraged I just think of one of you, especially Grandpa and I know what I have to do WORK WORK WORK! And I will be blessed. I have never felt the spirit as often as I have in the MTC. Oh and I was made district leader, so I have to go to a lot of meeting and don't get to study as much as I'd like but it is a great oportunity to serve. I am in such a rush. I hope you know I love all of you. I am leaving my family for 2 years so others can be with their families for ETERNITY. I work 16 hour days EVERYDAY for two years because I know this church is true. NO other reason. Because God has asked me to. Sorry if i'm preachy...i'm a missionary... kinda what we do. Mahal Kita! Tell the anaks I love them! I am happy, I am learning, I am witnessing miracles- literally! I am exactly where Jesus Christ would have me. I am His representative.
I'm not sure if our investigator is an actor or not. They tell us he is real- either way he is real  to us. My companion and I committed him to baptism last night. So amazing! HE SAID OP! That means yes. hahaha. So i don't have much time- I need to go study and WORK and be obedient! I love you all! Also you should "dear elder" me. ask markee how to do it. That way I can read whatever you send the day you send it. and then I can just reply to you on p-day. Rather than read and reply. SIGI? OKAY? I love you, and I love this work even though it is hard. I AM A MISSIONARY FOR THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. FINALLY! Mahal Kita!
